THAT CANDLE CARE GUIDE

GET THE MOST FROM THAT CANDLE

Wooden wicks are more delicate than traditional cotton wicks and may take more care and patience to maintain

We love wooden wicks not only because they provide a unique & delightful experience, but because they're more sustainable! They also give off a slight crackle, similar to a fireplace and burn more evenly and cleanly than cotton wicks.

Please read the below for full guidance on how to properly light and maintain your new candle:

1. On the first burn, allow the wax to fully melt to the edge of the can, both on the first burn and consecutive ones! (2-3 hours max) do this by breaking off the TOP black bits of the wick with your fingers, or use nail clippers to shorten the wick to be about 1/8″ – 3/16″.

2. On every new burn, re-trim the wick to 1/8." the shorter height allows the wax to capillary up the wick to feed the flame properly. Always allow enough time for the wax to melt to edge of can before blowing out.

3. Do NOT burn the candle for longer than 2-4 hours at a time. it's time for a new candle when there is 1/2" wax remaining.

That Pro Tip:

Our wooden wicks light best with a longer lighter (hold it 5-8 seconds when lighting to give more fuel to the wick).

If you think you've over trimmed the wick, use a butter knife to scrape out a small bit of wax directly underneath the wick and relight with a lighter.

THOSE FINAL NOTES:
